New Poster Art

I've been working for the last few years trying to find my place in the art world. And after soul searching I've found my passion. Gig Posters. I've been doing it for over a year and I keep getting better and better.

I started doing a few posters for my former employer, Woodland's Tavern, in Columbus, Ohio and for a band called "The Winnie Cooper Project" also out of Columbus, Ohio.

Now I live in Sarasota, Florida and I am working freelance and trying to get some more gigs. These are examples of my most recent work.

More Gagné

Gagné project explained a few posts down.

More of the Gagné Sketches.

Michel Gagné Tribute (in a way)

So my friend Mike was looking at a recent sketch of mine and says "Man, I still think your work looks like Michel Gagné."
I reply, "Who?"
Mike, "Didn't we discuss this. Did I not show you this guy?!"
And so he hands me three books and I immediately fell in love. (If you are unaware of this man, goto Gagneint.com... you won't be disappointed, and you'll see the similarity in art styles.)
After flipping through "Insanely Twisted Rabbits" I started drawing these creatures (except the crab... did that one a few nights before while watching Deadliest Catch... Love it)
Now I plan on taking all my favorite sketches and putting them together in book form and try to publish it.
Hope you enjoy!

Boredom. Waiting to get responses on jobs. So I started doing my profile picture in illustrator.

Finally Some More Stuff

I've been staying at my parent's home in Florida and brought down my art desk so i could get some work done. It is like something ou of a dream. My desk is on their back patio and i get to work outside all the time, next to a pool and a hot tub/fountain. So being a vagabond has its benefits.

Here is the progress thus far...

The black and white one eyed squid is going to be my new tatoo on the right shoulder and running all the way past my elbow.

The piece with the two clown faces is actually two separate pieces and it is entitled "Thought Bubbles". I am currently writing the poem to go with it so it is unfinished at the moment.

The long skinny landscape still isn't titled but may just go with the "No Will/Now Ill" title of the poem.

The other long skinny one is thus far called "Lynch" but that title is also in working cause the piece isn't finished.
